Awards and Prizes

We award the following trophies each year.
In 2021, there are awards only, no prizes.

Initially we asked customers to vote for their favourite painting. After an incident about multiple votes for a painting by the same person however the decision was made to ask a professional artist to judge this prize winner and runner up, often a local art teacher. Winners’ names are now recorded on the salver of what became the “Artists’ Prize”.

The winner of the Artists’ Prize 2021 is Fiona Webster for ‘River Tay Trees and Rising Mist’.

The runner up is Susan Raes for ‘Winter in Maxwell Park’.

The Judge for the Artists’ Prize in 2021 was Robert McNeil MBE, who is a UNESCO RILA Affiliate Artist and Ambassador for Remembering Srebrenica UK.

Joe Henderson RSA was one of our most successful painters, and was a great supporter of the Art Show, selling many paintings for us.  People collected his works and kept returning for more.  When he died, his widow Eva donated a silver cup in his memory.

The winner of the J D Henderson Trophy 2021 is Iain Gordon, for ‘Setting Sun, Birsay, Orkney’.

Nancy McHarg is runner up for ‘Red Rug with Sunflowers’.

The judge was Stan Milne, the winner in 2020.
